Safely performs layout, installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of 480-3 phase electrical systems including wiring and conduit runs, communication cables, control and coaxial wiring, thermocouples and power distribution systems.
Safely setup and operate lathes, machining centers, and robots for a high-volume production operation.
Safely operate a variety of machines and/or processes according to procedure to produce the goals established for quality and quantity of cast aluminum wheels.
Safely troubleshoot, repair and adjust mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and robotic machinery and equipment.
Plans and conducts analyses, inspection, design, and testing to ensure quality of raw materials and finished products.Utilizes SPC and structured problem-solving tools.
Communicates significant quality issues and develops recommendations for process improvements, corrective and preventive actions, etc.
Prepares various reports for customer representatives and Company management.
Performs quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with customer requirements, TS or IATF standards, etc.
Schedules and conducts periodic supplier quality audits and develops recommendations for continuous quality improvement of purchased material.
Compiles operating procedures, process control procedures, work instructions, etc. as needed to help ensure consistent product quality.
At least three (3) years of progressive and related quality assurance experience is required.
Related experience with a Tier I automotive supplier is required.Experience that includes metallurgy/metal forming and painting processes as well as ‘cosmetic’ quality standards is strongly preferred.
Experience must include: a) ISO/TS 16949 or IATF standards for quality management systems: b) Statistical Process Control (SPC); c) Root Cause Analysis; d) 5-Why and Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA); e) Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA); f) Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP); g) Production Part Approval Process (PPAP); and h) Gauging, inspection processes, blueprint reading, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
Assists in the design, modification, programming, and repair of tools, fixtures, and equipment. Monitors equipment functions and works with Facility Maintenance, outside vendors, and others to maximize equipment utilization. Conducts weekly audits to ensure adequate inventories of materials, tools, parts and supplies.
Investigates equipment layout, processes, procedures, and work methods to identify and implement changes that can potentially improve safety, product quality, productivity and cost efficiency. Utilizes statistical process control (SPC), root cause analyses, and other tools to help diagnose issues and determine appropriate countermeasures.
Collaborates with department engineers and others to review and ensure compliance with control plans and for implementation of process failure mode and effects anaylsis (PFMEA).
Assists in planning and leading new hire and refresher training sessions. Updates operating procedures, process control procedures, check-sheets, work instructions, etc. Follows up with others as needed to ensure that training is properly documented.
Collaborates with Product Development, Quality Assurance, and others for planning and coordination of test wheel (prototype) processing to help ensure smooth startup of all new wheel programs.
Assists in evaluation of A4S suggestions and leads implementation of adopted suggestions.
Conducts daily and other periodic audits to ensure procedure compliance and consistent application across all teams.
Supports and/or leads department cost reduction projects; and peforms other duties assigned by the Department Supervisor and Assistant Supervisor.
High School diploma (or equivalent) is required. At least one year of relevant college/vocational training is preferred. Two plus years of related experience is preferred. Working knowledge of structured problem-solving techniques and statististical process control is required. Demonstrated ability to read/interpret blueprints, schematics, drawings, etc. is required. Operational knowledge of precision measuring instruments, gauges, test equipment is also required. Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computers, including word processing and spreadsheet software, is strongly preferred. Visual ability, including near vision, depth perception, and color discrimination, is required. Flexibility and willingness to work alternate schedules as needed is also required.
Supports the design, development, testing, assessment, and continuous improvement of machinery, equipment, tooling, production processes and systems to meet or exceed objectives for safety, product quality, productivity, and cost efficiency. Collaborates with production management, quality assurance, safety/environmental, product development, and other personnel to achieve customer satisfaction and Company objectives.
At least five (5) years of progressive and related manufacturing/process engineering experience is required--including high-volume CNC machining of cast aluminum parts, cutting simulations, innovative and cost-effective tooling/fixtures, and CNC programming. Working knowledge of typical machining defects and ‘appearance standards as well as cost reduction initiatives is strongly preferred. Related Associate degree, or equivalent required; related Bachelor degree is preferred. Experience should include:
Plans and coordinates the execution of all aspects of machinery/equipment purchases and capital improvement projects under the direction of the Facility Manager or other project managers. Prepares cost justifications and detailed specifications for machinery, equipment, and systems. Assists in sourcing, negotiating contracts, and coordinating the work of suppliers and contractors to perform various aspects of projects. Prepares detailed project budgets, monitors project milestones, and creates periodic project reports. Reviews completed projects to confirm that equipment, components, and systems are functioning properly and can be released to production.
At least five (5) years of related project engineering experience is required--preferably in a high-volume manufacturing environment. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are required to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously is required. Related Bachelor degree (or equivalent) are also required. Experience should also include:
Plans and delegates installation, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of machinery, equipment, and facilities. Conducts orientation, training, coaching, and performance evaluation for multi-craft maintenance staff. Communicates regularly with production departments to ensure proper coordination of schedules and priorities. Provides hands-on support for maintenance/repair--utilizing knowledge/skills with electrical measuring instruments and testing devices, power and hand tools, welding and fabricating equipment. Compiles information for periodic reports.
High school diploma (or equivalent) is required; Related multi-craft maintenance training strongly preferred. Working knowledge of 440 or 480 three-phase electrical/electronic systems, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic equipment is required. Working knowledge of precision measuring instruments, gauges, test equipment, and blueprint reading is also required. Experience with electronic controls, robotics, construction trades, sheet metal fabrication, and welding is preferred.
